Vietnam departs for Uzbekistan to participate in 2024 AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup

HANOI – The Vietnamese women’s U20 football team have set off for Uzbekistan to compete in the final round of the 2024 AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup, scheduled to take place from March 3 to 16.

Following a training match against the U15 Viettel team on Tuesday, the coaching staff selected 25 players for the tournament.

In order to hone their tactics and showcase their abilities to secure a spot in the official list of the Vietnamese team for the AFC event, Việt Nam will engage in two more friendly matches against the host team.

Việt Nam are in Group B, where they will face defending champions Japan, second runners-up North Korea, and 2006 champions China.

In Group A, hosts Uzbekistan will compete against South Korea, Australia, and Chinese Taipei.

The top four teams from the competition will qualify as the AFC representatives for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
