PHNOM PENH – The government has announced that it will allow foreign residents of Cambodia who have been living in the Kingdom for over two years to apply for a visitor’s pass that will grant them one free admission to the Angkor Archaeological Park and Koh Ker Temple at any time during the one full year for which it is valid once issued.
The move was primarily made in order to promote domestic tourism and to encourage long-term foreign residents of Cambodia to engage in more travel within the Kingdom’s borders.
It was also done to thank Cambodia’s law-abiding foreign residents for the helpful work they do here, which over the years has been vital to the Kingdom’s development, and for the jobs investors have provided to Cambodians through their business activities.
In a September 1 notice, Angkor Enterprise – which oversees ticket sales at the park – said that in order to promote domestic tourism and welcome more visits by resident foreign nationals, the government will allow all foreigners who have been staying in the Kingdom for more than two years to apply for a one-year validity / one-time entry free visitor’s pass to Angkor Archaeological Park and Koh Ker Temple, from September 1, 2022 onwards.
In addition to foreigners generally who have legally resided in Cambodia for two years or longer, there are other categories of foreigners who will be eligible to apply for the visitor’s passes with no length of residency requirement: diplomats, investors here on an investor visa, officials working at certain international organizations or agencies and technical experts working in ministries or for public institutions as well as the immediate families of all of the above.
The notice added that, starting September 9, application forms can be filled out online at this portal: spass.angkorenterprise.gov.kh
Or they can be submitted directly to Angkor Enterprise during its working hours with attached copies of the applicants’ passports and copies of all visas while in Cambodia going back at least two years from present day, as well as a 4×6 photo of the individual taken in the past six months from the date of this announcement.
