ULAANBAATAR – On October 7, 2024, S.Amarsaikhan, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia and head of the Mongolian section of the Mongolian-Russian State Committee, received Valery Falkov, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Amarsaikhan highlighted the discussions held during Russian President V.V. Putin’s recent visit, focusing on expanding cooperation between Mongolia and Russia in education, science, and other sectors.
S.Amarsaikhan also noted his collaboration with A.A.Kozlov, the Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology, who heads the Russian section of the Committee. They are planning to hold the 26th meeting of the Committee later this year, where they will discuss measures following President V.V.Putin’s visit and implement the outcomes of the previous meeting.
Mongolia has planned 14 mega projects for the next four years, with a focus on energy, railways, road transport, environment, oil, gas pipelines, and agriculture. The government is working on training personnel and increasing educational opportunities in these sectors.
S.Amarsaikhan expressed gratitude for Russia’s support in training Mongolian students in crucial fields like energy, oil, and road transport, and for the opportunities extended to young Mongolians to pursue higher education in Russia.
