Myanmar ruler to visit China, will attend meetings including Great Mekong Sub-regional Summit

Gen. Min Aung Hlaing will also hold meetings with Chinese government officials during the visit.

YANGON – It has been reported that the chairman of Myanmar’s State Administration Council will visit China and attend meetings including the Great Mekong Sub-region Summit and hold meetings with Chinese government officials.

According to China’s invitation, Major General Min Aung Hlaing will visit the country to attend the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Summit, which will be held from November 6 to 7 in Kunming. He will also attend the 10th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Co-operation Strategy (ACMECS) and join a meeting with Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

In addition, Gen Min Aung Hlaing will hold meetings with Chinese government officials during the visit, and will promote friendship between the governments and people of the two countries.

It has also been reported that discussions will be held to further develop and strengthen cooperation in the economy and all sectors.
