ULAANBAATAR – In the second round of the 45th Chess Olympiad, Mongolia’s women’s team defeated Monaco 3-1, while the men’s team tied 2-2 with the Czech Republic.

The 45th Chess Olympiad, organized by FIDE, is taking place in Budapest, Hungary, and runs until September 13. The Mongolian national chess teams have shown strong performances, with the women’s team triumphing over Monaco and the men’s team securing a draw against the Czech Republic.

Men’s Team Performance:

  • The Mongolian men’s team tied with the Czech Republic in the second round.
  • FIDE Master Chinguun Sumiya, playing on the 2nd board, won both of his games.
  • The men’s team will face Israel in the third round.

  • IM Amartuvshin Ganzorig /Black/ lost to GM Nguyen Tai Dai Van /White/ (0-1)
  • FM Chinguun Sumiya /White/ won against GM Zilka Stepan /Black/ (1-0)

Women’s Team Performance:

The Mongolian women’s team won 3-1 against Monaco, with Munkhzul Turmunkh losing the only game at the 1st board. They will face Peru in the third round.
