Mongolia’s Chinggis Khaan National Museum secures global exhibition rights at leading museums

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, Tourism, and Youth of Mongolia, along with the museum, have successfully secured agreements to showcase the "Chinggis Khaan" international exhibition at renowned museums worldwide, with bookings extending until 2027.

ULAANBAATAR – S.Chuluun, Director of the Chinggis Khan National Museum and Academician, met with Matthias Wemhoff, Director of the Museum of Prehistory and Early History in Berlin, Germany. Under the auspices of the Presidents of both Mongolia and Germany, it was agreed to host a major international exhibition titled “Chinggis Khaan: The World of the Mongols” at the prestigious Simon Gallery in 2026.

During the visit, they explored artifacts, textiles, and stoneware from the Khulegu State (Ilkhanate) held in Berlin, which will be featured in the exhibition.

Additionally, Director S.Chuluun met with Koch, Director of the Humboldt Forum, securing the right to publish a catalog of Mongolian heritage in Germany as part of the Global Heritage Series, with plans to release it soon.

An agreement was also reached with Director Kaun to publish 13th-century Mongolian paintings from Diez, Mongolian manuscripts discovered in Turfan, and 19th-century paintings of Khalkh Khoshuud from the Asian Department of the National Library of Berlin. The first volume is set to be published later this year.
